Mediterranean in the Country
This 2,700-square-foot home is made for having family and friends over. The homeowners' children and grandchildren live close by, and the family spends its summers in the pool right outside the kitchen.
This was our third project with these clients. They love a light Mediterranean look and knew exactly the style they wanted, so they brought us in at the very beginning to get the details right. That let us help shape the interior architecture, making it more dramatic and more consistent from room to room. Arched openings repeat through the home, and wood beams cross the entry ceiling. We also helped with the exterior and designed the ironwork at the front entry.

The kitchen and bar were the main focus. The colors there are quiet: soft whites, creams, a little blue and green, with walnut accents. Even the insides of the drawers are walnut, so you see that rich finish every time you open one.
The arched cabinet doors in the kitchen took the most work. We worked closely with BoWood Cabinets on the proportions and on how the doors were built.
Other rooms have stronger color. One bathroom has deep blue tile, another has blush tile, and the powder room has botanical wallpaper and a green ceiling. A pair of green saloon-style doors opens to the wine storage.
The homeowners plan to add even more color with furnishings and accessories. And with grandchildren close by and the pool a few steps from the kitchen, the house will rarely be quiet.
